About the role
As Programme Officer you will be responsible to carry out and follow up on our programme and long-term partnerships with human rights organisations in Kosovo and Europe, according to the Civil Rights Defenders Strategy and respective budget(s).
The Programme Officer reports to the Europe Department Director.
The role offers great variety, including work tasks such as:
- Managing the work of Civil Rights Defenders office in Kosovo
- Supporting the work of local human rights organisations
- Advocacy and policy influence at national and EU level
- Capacity building and training
- Partnership and Network building
- Reporting and documentation
- Supporting fundraising efforts of the Europe Department
About you
As a person you like to take initiative and generate activity and have the ability to lead, motivate, and empower others to reach common goals. You also see to the long-term significance and further consequences of things and act accordingly. You like to engage in teamwork and contribute constructively. We assume that you share our values.
To be suitable for this position you have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations or similar, including education on international human rights mechanisms.
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience within human rights in Kosovo.
- Experience from coordination work in complex environments, preferably with international organization/s.
- Proven experience in project management.
- Track record in advocacy work both nationally and internationally.
- Extensive experience from human rights work in the region, including external engagements with human rights organisations and stakeholder.
- Fluency in English required, knowledge of any other Western Balkans language considered a merit.
- Strong IT skills, including good knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Excel, PPT, Word).
About the employment
This is a full-time permanent employment with 6 months probationary employment, starting in March 2025 or according to agreement.
